Day 9- Disneyland

Day 9: Disneyland!

This morning we were awoken at 6am to Dallas's Mickey Mouse sound track. Also the sounds of the highway added a nice touch. We all got ready rather sluggish from the hot sun yesterday, but we managed to leave (somewhat) on time to get started on our long magical day at Disneyland. On the short drive we enjoyed chocolate chip and blueberry muffins. Once we arrived we went through Disney security, then Ava enlightened us with her Disneyland research. Then we walked up the magical Main Street USA and went on our first group ride of the day, SPACE MOUNTAIN. Space Mountain went 2 ways for people; 1. Uneasy 2. With an adrenaline rush. We then went on our 2nd and 3rd group rides of the day, Astro Blaster, and Pirates of the Caribbean. After our group activities we all split into groups to explore Disneyland.

Many groups enjoyed the rides such as Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Matterhorn, and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. It's pretty safe to say that all of the participants enjoyed plenty of churros, and Dole Whip. In between each of the rides, we got to meet some of our favorite Disney characters. One overly excited camper dropped his water bottle when he spotted his favorite princess, Belle. Another camper spotted Cinderella in the parade and got her to wave and even blow a kiss. We all know he was blushing... All of the campers were able to enjoy a variety of food that was not the usual sandwiches. We were all thrilled to have hours of free time with

our groups and see firsthand the magic of Disneyland.

After enjoying many rides, we decided to go explore the shops of downtown Disney. While doing this, many campers spent way too much money on souvenirs and a dinner to fill our bellies... you know who you are. Most of our campers were able to enjoy a dessert from the ice cream shop. After 12 hours in the park, around 8 o'clock we made our way back to the Toy Story parking lot to head back to our campsite. The boys showed that they had more fun than the girls as they came through the parking lot jumping and heel clicking with joy. When we saw this, we knew the Disney magic had gotten to them. As we drove back and unloaded off the bus at our campsite in Anaheim where we stayed last night, we unloaded the trailers to gather our sleeping stuff. After our long, thrilling, and tiring day, we took fast showers and headed to bed by 10 o'clock. The Disney magic is showing through the happiness and joy of our campers this afternoon. We are so excited to explore UCLA and LA tomorrow!
