Day 12-San Francisco

Day 12: San Francisco

Today we woke up at 7:15 am to the warmth of the inside of a gym though Grant was up way earlier taking our laundry to be washed. (many of us desperately needed this) This morning we had a delicious
Honey buns and bananas breakfast before we headed into the city of San Francisco.

On the way we drove by The Painted Ladies and the house from The Princess Diarires. Next we had a small hike to see our last glimpse of the Pacific Ocean. (it is too cold for some of our liking) Where we visited the Sutro Baths, when we were there we got to explore a cave and have a little competition to see who was thought they were the fastest. The air here in SF is quite cold and misty, many of us were wishing we had more layers on. After we hopped on the bus and vans we had a quick little 10 minute drive to the wharf where we got to see presentations and our first glimpse of the Golden Gate bridge.

Once we did a little shopping and ventured over to the infamous Fishermans Wharf sign we received our maps and separated into our groups of 6 or more to explore the city. Many groups sprinted to In-N-Out and Starbucks to be first in line. Others headed to Union Square on the cable cars and buses to do some more damage to their bank accounts. As many of you know, we also found an Apple store today and called everyone we could. At about 3:30 everyone made their way to the famous China Town to have a late lunch and early dinner with Miss. Kathy. We all enjoyed a nice sit down dinner together, which was honestly some of the best Chinese food we had ever had. Then we made our last walk through China Town as we headed back to the bus.

Finally what we’ve been waiting for, we got to see and walk the Golden Gate Bridge! We all held hands and took 23 steps together on the bridge to symbolize our forever friendships that we’ve made. After the chilly, noisy walk we all had a photoshoot on the other side of the bridge before heading back to the gym to sleep.

Everyone was delighted to come back to clean and folded laundry and take HOT showers! To finish off the day we all headed to bed pretty early to prepare for an early morning drive to Yosemite National Park.

(Pictures are to come :) )
