Day 3- San Antonio

Day 3: San Antonio and the Alamo

HEY HOWDY HEY 𓃾 from your favorite Bashful's!
We woke up bright and early at 5 o'clock in the air conditioning which made it feel like a 5 star resort, when that quickly changed when we walked out of the buildings into the lovely Louisiana humidity, when they say Louisiana and New Orleans are truly breathtaking they are being serious. After our breathtaking adventure down in the bayou we hopped on the bus and vans and fell back to sleep for a few Zzzz's. Today's gourmet traveling breakfast was strawberry and cookies and cream pop tarts with a side of zesty oranges, which definitely made the buses smell better, because it becomes a little sour smelling after the heat. After eating the best breakfast of our lives, we narrowly missed a catastrophic catastrophe with the bathroom on the bus, let's just say that we made it in time to the rest stop and had a round of applause for the valiant effort of holding it, the bus really appreciated it!

Card games are our favorite

Thumbs up for a great smelling bus!

After our morning games and chit-chats we stopped at the Flying-J to fill up the bus with gas, on the bus we had but in guesses as to how much it would cost to fill up with gas, our lowest guess was $137 all the way to $2400. DRUM ROLL PLEASEEEEEEE, it cost $670 in grand total, this is the first time we have filled up the bus since leaving! Connor Murry was a whopping, 0.50¢ off of the grand total!

Our pretty pretty Princesses

After leaving the Flying-J we loaded back up on the vehicles and to curve the excitement of BUC-EE'S we had a lovely interview with Ms. Dallas Godbold, Will C. and Ben E. were our host on our afternoon talk show. We also made friendship bracelets, did fairy hair on each other and had lots and lots of song request, including the Star Spangled Banner in which we all stood and sung as loud as humanly possible. (Lady Gaga could never....) Dallas also pulled out her 4th grade  playlist which was something else. Meanwhile on the van we had multiple jam out sessions and had some great conversations. Before the grand stop of the day, we had the famous TWB pizza wraps for lunch, but some people opted out due to the brisket sandwiches being less than 20 minutes away.
SLEEP CAM!!!

Afternoon Talk Show Host

The stop we all came on TWB for BUC-EE'S (just kidding it was the highlight of today), nobody understands the excitement we had when getting off the bus. This was the Grand Canyon of Texas and our personal opinion the 8th wonder of the world. We bought, lots and lots of snacks, explored all of the different and unique merchandise, it is like a Hobby Lobby and Walmart mixed together. There were a few people who bought matching BUC-EE'S ONESIES.

After our grand stop, we had to hop back on the bus and book it to San Antonio to visit the Alamo and Riverwalk. If anyone wants to know what the roads are like in Texas it is a massive construction zone, which sadly also put us behind due to a crash in Houston so we had to walk very quickly when we got to San Antonio. Once we got there we went to see the historic Alamo and then went to explore the riverwalk. None of us knew what to expect form the Alamo but it was in the middle of the city, which was different than what we were thinking. Once we were done exploring the Alamo we went to the riverwalk and oddly the counselors told us to take off our shoes and apparently we were supposed to take off our shoes so we didn't scuff the ground, because “We have to pay our respects", turns out we all got pranked. Since we didn't have much time most of us just ice cream, grabbed a quick dinner (or had the option for a traveling dinner when we got back on the bus, yummy Caesar Salad Wraps!), and walked around the shops. Anything inside at this point was nice because it was 117० according to the van, we have NEVER felt this kind of heat before. Some people who grabbed tacos were late coming back to the meeting spot because their tacos we definitely talking to them.... IYKYK.

Couldn't even fit us all in one picture!

Much better!

The Mexican restaurant that caused a few people to have a talkin' taco ;)

Smelly Smelly feet

Smile for the river walk :)))))

Gourmet dinner!

After a short bus ride we rode back to the next place we were shacking up for the night, Schreiner University, a small university of about 1,200 people. We got to luckily take showers tonight even though they were less than 4 minutes, we will take anything we can get! The NEW cooks (Grumpy') showered first since they had to go to Walmart to grab food for breakfast and lunch for tomorrow. Once everyone was finished with the showers we had our nightly meeting and talked about the Grand Canyon a little bit and listened to research for the day since we were a little close on time earlier. Today we learned about: Schreiner University (Meg Bratton), San Antonio, TX (Grace Gentry), The Alamo (Emma Smith), The State of Texas (Evan Tillis), and The River Walk (Makenna Tyson). After our meeting and research we ended up just sitting around, bonding and enjoying each others company.
Meg really educated us on Schreiner University

Evan letting us know her Ex's do not live in Texas

Emma is answering the question everyone asked
"What actually is the Alamo?"

Makenna telling us why we needed to take off our shoes ;)

Miss. Grace educating us about San Antonio, TX
